College names new choir director
Posted: Saturday, July 26, 2014 12:00 am - starhearld.com - Scottsbluff Summit Christian College has hired Deanna Floe, a central Nebraska native, as the new choir director, vocal coach and outreach team leader. Floe graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in music education, having specialized in vocal and choral music. She has resided in Scottsbluff for the last two years. |
Floe runs a private voice studio out of her home, works as a substitute teacher for the Scottsbluff school district, and works part time for The Emporium in Scottsbluff. In her free time, she loves performing, baking, hiking the Scotts Bluff National Monument, spending time with friends and serving on the worship team at her church.
Summit Christian College is excited to bring Floe to the campus and to see the college’s music program grow and develop along with her. As an adjunct professor, she will make a great addition to the staff and faculty at Summit Christian College, which is an institution of higher learning, educating people for Christian leadership.

Musician to perform
Sunday at First Baptist Church Posted: Saturday, July 26, 2014 12:00 am - starhearld.com - Scottsbluff Kristina Craig, a western Nebraska native and Nashville recording artist, will present a gospel concert at First Baptist Church in Scottsbluff on Sunday, July 27, at 6 p.m. This will be an outdoor concert on the front lawn of the church, located at 3009 Ave. I, just across from Home Depot. This is a free concert for the community, but a free-will offering will be received for Craig and her band. The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, and additional seating will be available. |
Craig grew up near a very small town east of Alliance. For the past seven years she has lived in Nashville, Tennessee, where she formed a band and began her musical career. She is known as the “Angel With Tattoos” for her mix of country music and gospel songs. Her faith is her driving force, and she and her band are presently on a “small-town America” tour, bringing her message and her joy to many different places.
This concert is a gift from First Baptist to the community, and everyone is invited to come and enjoy this very special opportunity.
